| Résumé : | The squid loligo vulgaris is widespread on the atlantic and the mediterranean coasts of Morocco at depths ranging between 10 and 400m on silt and sand bottoms its existing fishery is limited. The offshore fishery practiced by Japanese, Spanish, Korean and Moroccan trawlers is concentrated sonth along the continental shelf between cap juby and cap blanc. The trawls used have a mesh size of 6 mm and a footrope of nearly 80m length. Fishing is concentrated in waters only 8-25m deep. This area is considered among the richest cephalopod ficheries in the world |
